Can you see the (there are 3)? On a later drive we had a great day and actually saw quite a few interesting birds that were probably just passing through for migration. Here is a list in the order seen if you care to read on: Common Merganser, Mallard, Robin, Red-winged Black Bird, Yellow-headed Black Bird, Red-tailed Hawk (sitting in the field posing for us in the sun), Coot, White Pelican, Cinnamon Teal, Canada Goose, Ring-necked Pheasant, House Wren, Cormorant (we watched him catch and eat a fish!), Gadwall, Ring-necked Duck, Redhead, Northern Shoveler, Meadowlark, Northern Harrier, Western/Clark's Grebe, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Mourning Dove, and somewhere in the middle of all that we saw a BEAVER out on his lodge! Between all those birds, the beaver and the cormorant eating a fish it was a successful morning drive!

Sandhill Cranes
This picture was in March, but I wanted to share some of our bird-watching adventures around Utah Lake. We hadn't seen much this particular day but the Sandhill Cranes made it worth it.
