"Y" Mountain Drive

On a recent Saturday, Jeremy and I got up early and went on a drive around the back side of Y-Mountain. We had heard about the drive and went part of the way before, so it was nice to go the full trip! The road starts from Provo Canyon and goes towards Squaw Peak but you stay left and go behind the mountain to the back side of Rock Canyon and Rock Canyon Campground. After that it got exciting! Jeremy ignored a sign saying "NOT SUITABLE FOR PASSENGER CARS" and our Subaru's All-Wheel-Drive got some good use! I liked the mountain views and going on the drive with Jeremy. We had to go pretty slow most of the time because of big rocks and some ruts that we didn't want to get stuck on or get a flat tire. We stopped once to watch a hawk flying below us and on the way down from the mountains we even saw some wild turkeys near Hobble Creek Canyon. Notice the "heavenly rays" in this last picture?
